WHAT WE DO
PHOTOGRAPHY turned upside down
Phototypical turns industrial photography upside down. We know a fair bit about industry and the construction business, and it is this knowledge that we want to shine through in the photos we take.
We focus solely on our areas of competence, i.e. agriculture, industry, technical installations, construction, plants and offshore. This creates something your customers will recognize, and ensures a link between images, communication and branding.
"RAW and EXTREME" – that's us!
We relish assignments that most people would consider extremely "industrial", extremely dirty, extremely noisy and, not least, extreme sites
– for us, this is par for the course.
Our motto is "Equal parts oil and mud
with a good dash of extreme equipment".
Make it sophisticatedly simple – IT SELLS
We aim to create simple visual communication through images that give the customer an understanding of the product, the service and the company. Products are often taken out of context and displayed alongside blurb in brochures, advertisements or on company websites.
We try to photograph them in their relevant, natural surroundings and environment, giving the customer a feel for how the product or service can be experienced when used at their own company.
Images for newspapers, banners, brochures, mobiles or websites
We has extensive expertise in the post-production of images to ensure that they look their very best in the media they are destined for, whether in a newspaper ad, on a mega-banner for an exhibition, or for mobile or websites.
The advice we offer and the use of our knowledge regarding the different forms of printing, file formats and colour management are, we believe, an important part of the service we provide. We always work in RAW format, allowing us to create the right output for the media where the image is to be used. You are always welcome to draw on our expertise when planning your next project.
General image editing is something we do ourselves in-house, but for more advanced image manipulation, we employ the services of relevant specialists.
– on budget and on time
We offer a production service in connection with the planning of photo assignments, including calculation of costs, research of locations, crew booking, etc. For us, it is important that the budget and planning tally, ensuring that the best conditions for a successful assignment are in place. As a rule, we always provide a quote or an estimate for your assignment before we start, so you know what it is going to cost you.
Our name is based on the English word: prototypical
[representing or constituting an original type after which other similar things are patterned]
A creative company that is constantly in a process of change. Creating new trends – consciously or unconsciously helping to change an industry with new ways of working, mindset and attitudes. We want to share new ideas with our customers, and give you the opportunity to help create new trends in an otherwise tradition-bound industry.
Camera, flash systems – it goes without saying that the right equipment is key to a good photo. Above all, the equipment should match the desired result, whether the image is to be used in a newspaper ad or on a giant banner at an exhibition.
We have digital DSLR and medium format cameras, and flash equipment which is largely portable, allowing us to carry out most assignments with our own equipment. If extra or special equipment is required, we have access to it through our business partners.
Our equipment also includes safety boots, helmets, life jackets, orange protective clothing and not least the necessary safety certification to work offshore. We know how to behave on building sites, on ships or in factories where production is under way and cannot be stopped just because someone is taking some photos, or where "Safety First" has top priority.
Jan Larsen holds the BOSIET offshore safety certificate, valid until 2018.

Better images of your company
for websites, brochures, etc.
Many people are under the impression that it costs a fortune to have good pictures taken for websites, brochures, promotional material, etc. So many opt for a "DIY" solution, taking a few pictures here and there at the company. We want to help you to do it better, as these are images that potentially sell the company at first sight.
To be perfectly frank, you get what you pay for. We offer a package deal where we take a series of photos at your company. We spend a day on site with camera and lights, taking photos of buildings, machinery, work situations, storerooms, etc. Typically, this will produce 15 to 20 high-quality images that can be used on your website and in brochures, etc.
The images can be used freely in any media. The price includes delivery of all images in two resolutions; one for the web and one for print.
